Supporting a student with hearing difficulties in a MFL lesson
I have a student who has a significant hearing loss. She wears a hearing aid. She does very well in most situations but struggles to listen to the listening passages on cassette or audio file
To help her, I make sure she is at the front of the class as near as possible to me. Once I have played the listening extract, I then go close to her and repeat the passage, making sure she can read my lips.
This works while she is a beginner and the extracts are quite short. It will be more difficult as she gets older and the extracts become longer
