Description of the school:
Hennebergisches Gymnasium is a general secondary school. The students come from Schleusingen and from the several villages around. Our area is a rural one. With the foundation in 1577 it is one of the oldest grammar schools in Germany. At first it was a boarding school for boys, later for girls, too. In 1925 the first female student attended school. In 2002 to the 425th anniversary a new building was finished. After being renovated in February 2012 the boarding school opened its doors again. Students who need special help in learning get extra support from other students or teachers in the afternoon. Our school belongs to the environmental schools in Europe and to schools against racism and violence. Taking part in the Erasmus+ project means to have contact to a variety of other European schools and make a lot of students more active in learning languages.
