Our school hosted 8 teachers from all our partner schools from 14th to 17th September 2017. On Friday morning after presenting our school the last two years of the Erasmusplus project were drawn up and an outlook on the following year of cooperation was given. In the centre of interest were activities like the ongoing professional dialogue between teachers to share and discuss good practice, live lessons in maths and in modern foreign languages, the "Great Erasmus+Bake Off" and strategies for teaching SEN. We discussed what sort of special needs students there are in the schools and what the schools do to support them. Last point was the planning of the meeting in England in spring 2018. In the afternoon, the guests and of course the parents and grandparents of the students were able to convince themselves of their abilities. A colorful program was presented in the auditorium, which was created in collaboration with different faculties. The bouquet of songs, poems, sketches and dances has met with the audience' great approval .The Luther year and 500 years of the Reformation were the occasion to visit the Wartburg in Eisenach on Saturday morning. In the evening we celebrated 20 years of co-operation in Comenius projects with some of the "old pioneers of school partnership". As "Hennebergisches Gymnasium" we are proud to be part of this great Comenius school partnership..
Students from all partner schools met in Sweden to discover how schools in different countries are organized. What similarities and differences are between them. What kind of school the the ideal one? Susanna Schmalz and Maximilian Rockenstein were our participants. Susann Haack accompanied both of them. All guests students prepared a presentation of their own schools.

It is always a pleasure of our students attending the 5th to 7th form to show the guests of the Primary Schools around Schleusingen what they have learned in their MFL lessons. Be part of the programme! In January 2017 students of our 7th form and students from Liedon Keskuskoulu took part in a Skype lesson where they talked about a variety of topics. Introducing themselves and free time activities were some of the topics.
In our PE-lessons students and teachers used the English language for giving instructions and counting sports activities. In a video you can be guest during a PE- lesson of our 11th form playing badminton and doing strength training. You can see how much fun it was to them in this video.
In our entrance hall you can admire our decorated Christmas tree. It is beautiful, isn't it? Every year in the last week before Christmas you can enjoy our Christmas programme. The audience in the hall is impressed by various acts. Students of different age prepared songs, poems and small sketches long before.
Enjoy a little video . It is a tradition to go to the old people's home during the Christmas time. Students develop maths skills Students of the 11th form worked in groups to create their own maths lesson in English. Two students solved tasks about derivatives and tangents with their class mates. Other ones had to deal with an extreme value problem and had to do a curve sketching in their parts of the lesson. The life and works of Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz and Isaac Newton as founders of the infinitesimal calculus were presented by some other students. Video 1 Video 2 Video 3 Video 4 |
