What makes for a good MFL lesson
In this project we wanted to find out what a good MFL lesson looks like. All modern foreign languages were applied- English, French, Russian and Spanish. In each school the students worked out the top 5 things which were important for them.
During their English lesson the students of the 11th form discussed this problem and they worked out a questionnaire to find out what are the criteria of a good MFL lesson.

If you want you can go through this questionnaire and you can find out what kind of activities you practice in your MFL lesson and which are the most important ones to you.
In the 6th form the same topic stood in the centre of interest. These are the top 5 of the criteria the students worked out.
The top 5 of the other partner schools are in the section " Joint project work ".
Out of the ideas students of all partner schools had, the top 7 things were chosen and it was the task to identify which 3 of these are seen most regularly in their MFL lessons.
The top 7 things of the partnership
At our school 73 students took part in the survey to identify which 3 of the top 7 options from our partnership are the most seen and necessary to learn a modern foreign language. 54 of 73 students say that able to communicate with native speakers e.g. SKYPE or email is the most important criteria of a good MFL lesson. Activities such as quizzes and games used regularly to practise vocabulary have chosen 32 students. The third activity which plays an important role are using topics which are relevant to students.
