On 9th March 2016, MFL teachers from schools involved in the project did some further professional development using SKYPE. Finland, Sweden, and Ounsdale all joined in but once again the German school was unable to participate for technical reasons and Pershore also suffered from technical difficulties.
We spent about 30 minutes discussing these questions
1. How can we confirm that our use of ICT leads to improved achievement in Modern Foreign Languages and basic mathematical skills for all students?
2. How do you best handle the teaching of learners who work in (very) different tempo but are in the same group?
3. One idea to get students talking in the target language
Although we found question 1 difficult to answer, very interesting ideas were shared, often using visual aids, for the other questions and everyone concerned came away with some new ideas to use in lessons. We have just learned that Germany has managed to solve its technical difficulties so we hope for a full house when we next do some SKYPE work after Easter!
