Our MFL teachers have used various innovative and creative methods during their lessons. Many of these included physical activity, too.
Lesson 1 - practising vocabulary
The teacher wrote sentences from the chapter studied on sheets of paper and hid these sheets on the walls of the school corridors. The students had to find the sheets of paper and then translate the sentences into their mother tongue. They weren't able to use mobile phones or books while they were going around the corridors, but they could come back to the classroom to check the words. We made this a race with the fastest group of students getting 10 points, then 8 p and so on and the best translation also gave 10 points etc.
The 9th graders enjoyed getting out of the classroom and they vere reallly racing against each other.
Lesson 2 - acting as a guide
Two 7th grade students whose mother tongue is Russian played guests from St. Petersburg, Russia. The students learning Russian acted as guides and introduced our school to them. Afterwards "the guests" gave them feedback.

Lesson 4
There is a short clip below made of the first try to video during a lesson. We faced a few challenges. The teacher hadn't practised the taking the video a lot, so this caused technical problems. Also we found that it was difficult to do the normal teacher's job and video at the same time. The students didn't want to be videoed and tried to hide from the camera. They got very excited and nervous and forgot what they were supposed to do.
